Jesus was and still is the most amazing man I’ve ever known! His heart of serving, giving, loving, and sacrificing is unlike any I’ve ever seen or heard of. I know that no one can compare to Him. But I have always hoped to one day meet and fall in love with someone that closely resembled him. Just about two years ago I met this man and just about 2 months ago I fell in love with him. I fell in love with a man that’s so much like Him in more ways than one.
I wanted to share a little bit about this special man. He is always ready and willing to help and is such a great gentleman. He’s not only this way with me, I’ve seen him be this way since the day we first met. I’ve seen a warm, sincere man who has such a pure heart for God.
This man takes time each week to visit his friend in prison. He volunteers to serve as the singles ministry leader in his hometown church making every effort to meet the needs of the people in his ministry. He makes sure to spend quality time with his parents each week. He’s a great friend to his older brother and a loyal friend to many others! He is intelligent and full of faith. He is willing to serve in any way he is needed.
This past weekend I was able to spend some quality time with him. He flew down to Miami to spend Valentines Day weekend with me. He met my family and of course they (especially my mom) now love him. My mom can testify that she has seen just a small dose of what I see every day.
This past weekend was lots of fun because I also got to spend great times with my mom and sister who visited from Alaska, but I must say it was definitely very eventful with something happening every day at practically every waking hour. My boys were with me all weekend as well and he made sure to spend time with them doing things they liked to do also.
He volunteered to wake up at 4am to take my parents to the airport the 3rdday of him being here. I was going to do it gladly but he insisted. He never complained even though I could see how tired he had been since. He always had this smile on his face and reassured me that he was feeling great and was just happy to be spending time with the woman he loves and those that she loves as well.
He washed the dishes after almost every meal here me and my family. On the last day here, he even helped me thoroughly clean the kitchen and is already planning a house painting project in the summer when he comes to visit for longer! This man always treats me even when I insist on paying. He is always assuring me that he loves me first by his actions, and also with his words. I feel like a princess around him all the time.
I still don’t understand why God allowed me the privilege of being this man’s girlfriend, but He has and I do believe that He has a great plan to work through both of us. I’m excited about what lies ahead!
I’m so thankful to God for this man, the man I have the honor of calling my best friend, my boyfriend, and my love. This blog entry is dedicated to you my love Fernando.
